  • Double glass ceiling - Challenges facing women in patriarchal and secular societies

  • EFOMW participated in a conference "Double-glass ceiling? Experiences of Christian, Jewish, Muslim & Buddhist Women. Challenges facing women in patriarchal and secular societies", organised by European Jewish Community Center and B’nai B’rith Europe in cooperation with European Parliament’s anti-racism and diversity intergroup (ARDI), S&D and EPP groups in European Parliament.

    Conference is organised on the occasion on international women's day with intention to shed light and discuss challenges that women from different cultural backgrounds meets in their workplaces.

    Speakers shared their experiences as woman of different faiths and expressed their perspectives on this issue with conclusion that all women facing similar problems when it comes to discrimination on the ground of religion, belief and gender. 

    The conference highlighted what needs to be done to end discriminations in the workplace and concluded that women's rights must be protected every day of the year and not only on 8 March.
